Zhixin @ 9 months old

(Note: I am not old yet, I just realised I forgot to schedule this post while wanting to write 10 mo post….)

Growth, Food Intake and General Well Being

• Zhixin now consumes 80 ml (almost 3 oz) of ebm 6 times a day at the baby sitter’s house. At other times we still nurse on demand. Same as before.
• He’s eating a fair amount of solids at a sitting.  I am regularly letting him have meats and vegetables on the low allergy list. He eats all fruits that we eat. He seems to like the processed cheese that Huirou offers him but we are still careful to limit his salt intake at this age.
• He is not too fond of drinking water. And I have not tried to offer him any juice lest he develops a preference for them.
• Right now, he has 4 cute little teeth. two on top and two on the bottom. However, in his mouth the teeth can appear much bigger and they are still quite sharp!

Physical Development and Communications

• Zhixin is definitely crawling much faster these days. Still commando crawling, but much faster. (which incidently damage the collars of all his clothing, and dirties the front too)
• He has better balance and can catch himself if he happens to topple over while sitting.
• He loves to play obstacle course with the cushions and pillows on the floor.
• He’s very interested in whatever his Sis is doing. Often screaming in excitement at little games that she comes up with.
• When he meets familiar people he holds up his hand to say hello, and when we go out or leave the sitter’s he waves bye bye.
• When he’s happy, you find him bouncing and clapping. A sure fire way to achieve this is to sing the beginning lines of The DoReMi Song.
• He can speak at least 2 sounds now. And they are very important ones. Together they form 3 very important words to him. Baba, Mama, Mammammam. That’s right! He can address Hubs and I and to demand food! In case you are curious, he waited to say Ba after he says Ma so as not to hurt his dearest father’s feeling. (But Hubs is insisting that he said Ba first. He’s of course wrong in my blog)

Character and Temperament

• Zhixin like loud noises, the television and is only quick to cry when hungry or tired. Other than that he can be left alone most of the time.
• He’s also very tolerant of the rough love that Huirou gives him. Whenever she pushes him or scratch him, if it’s not too painful, he take it all in stride.

Ahhh! Nine months old is a wonderful age to be at, isn’t it?
