Growth, Food Intake and General Well Being

• Zhixin now consumes 80 ml (almost 3 oz) of ebm 6 times a day at the baby sitter’s house. At other times we still nurse on demand.
• At 6 months old, he has already started with a little bit of porridge and got some tastes of some oranges.
• Most nights, he goes to bed at 8.30-ish pm and wakes up at 7 am or so, only waking once around midnight for a light nursing session.

Physical Development and Communications

• Zhixin’s aim is very good now. He can grab toys and hold on to them for quite some time.
• If he is particularly interested in something, he turns it over and over, chewing on every single corner to try to discover the object.
• He also aims for the food in our bowls when we are eating and holding him at the same time.
• He is now steady enough that we can prop him up in a high chair to sit with us during mealtimes.
• He also likes to sit upright now. Sometimes, he even attempts to sit up in his car seat, instead of reclining.

Character and Temperament

• He is the child who sleeps well, eats well, watches tv and entertains himself. The kind of babies that parents imagine them to be. His tantrums are shortlived, normally only due to tiredness or hunger. Both are easily attended to.

His hair is longer, his torso has also grown. He laughs much louder now and is as demanding as ever, especially with his milk. He coos and gurgles and love to look at bright, colourful objects. I can’t wait for him to grow up yet at the same time I want to cherish him like this forever.
